How to Apply

READ FIRST:

Before applying, you must ensure that you are financially prepared by the time of application for a semester/year abroad.

Estimated Cost for one semester in Paris

NOT INCLUDING tuition:

Minimum $10,500

IMPORTANT PASSPORT INFORMATION:

Passport must still be valid six months after the end of the program.

​

​

Passport cannot expire in or before:

  • Fall students: July after your semester

  • Spring Students: December of the same year you are abroad

 

 

**All prospective applicants with an expired passport MUST renew passports AT LEAST 4 months BEFORE the application deadline.**

​

  • Failure to do so may result in not receiving a Student Visa on time and thus, not being able to go to Paris.

Before applying, you must reach out to your CUNY Campus's Study Abroad Office to see if there is paperwork that you have to fill out with them.

In order to apply, you must provide the following:

1 Recommendation Letter Needed (Recommendation Form & Instructions HERE)

  • Please email your professor the form linked above.

 


3. Completed MICEFA Application     WORD DOC HERE
 2 Recommendation Letters Needed

 We will help you purchase international insurance later on
 


4a. Email CUNY-Paris Application & MICEFA Application & Required Documents to bzahran@qc.cuny.edu with the following subject:

  • CUNY-Paris Exchange Application- [Your full name (EMPL ID)]- [Semester(s) abroad]

    • Ex: CUNY-Paris Exchange Application- Blanche Zahran (12345678)- Spring 2025

  • See details under "Important Notes" below.

 

Be sure to mention when you mailed your $400 application fee.

 


4b. $400 Cashier's Check, Certified Bank Check or Money Order (Application Fee) made out to Queens College (personal checks are not accepted)

 

Amount: $400 money order/cashier’s check/certified bank check

Made out to: Queens College

Memo: First Name, Last Name, Program Name, Semester(s)

    • ​We will not consider your application if you do not use this subject line

2 PDFs with their required additional documents attached in order:

1. CUNY-Paris Application (1st PDF- see below for more info.)

2. MICEFA Application (2nd PDF- see below for more info.)

CUNY-Paris PDF Application +

  • Official/Unofficial Transcript (from current university)

  • Color Passport Copy

  • Physician’s Statement​

MICEFA Word Doc Application +

  • 1 passport-style photo (PDF) - Example here

  • Picture of first page of passport

  • Photo of your student ID card

  • Official/Unofficial Transcripts from all other colleges you have attended

  • I will show you how to purchase international insurance later on; this is not needed right now.

All of these documents should be in 2 separate PDFs.

 

 

Recommendation Letters

Recommendation Letters should be emailed from your professor's CUNY email on department letterhead to bzahran@qc.cuny.edu:

  • CUNY-Paris Application: 1 Recommendation Letter + Recommendation Form

  • MICEFA Application: 2 Recommendation Letters

    • (The recommendation letter from your CUNY-Paris application + one more recommendation letter)
